ROGERS ACADEMY

Established in 1883, the Rogers Academy was funded and administered by the Congregational Church and later by the Presbyterian Church. The
school grounds were known as Campus Park, and the school buildings included Elizabeth Hall, a dormitory. The Rogers Academy was a cultural
and recreational center for the community, but by 1914 it was plagued by debt. In that year the Rogers school district purchased the Academy
grounds and buildings. Rogers Public Schools used the buildings until 1936, when they were torn down to build Central Ward school.
