Bike Medic Team

In 2000 the Rogers Fire Dept. created the Rogers Bike Medic Team at large events, utilizing bicycles. The team rides five Cannondale Mountain bikes that carry enough equipment to render care to a serious cardiac patient for up to fifteen minutes. The bikes also carry an array of basic medical supplies from Band-Aids to bandages. The bikes are very useful in large crowds where a traditional ambulance cannot maneuver through the congestion. The Bike Medic is at the patient's side much faster, affording the ambulance extra time so that it can slowly and safely respond to the scene for transport to the hospital. All members of the Bike Team are I.P.M.B.A. Certified. 

Some of the notable events that Bike Medics can be found at are Frisco Festival, Rogers Mounties Football Games, Parades, LPGA Tournaments, and Wal-Mart FLW Fishing Tournament. The Bike Medic Team is not only an asset to EMS, but also serves as a great public relations tool for the Fire Department.
