Coverage
...nationally recognized standards for urban
community fire engine company responses.
The coverage zones depicted are based on nationally
recognized standards for urban community fire engine company
responses. These zones also reflect a desirable emergency
ambulance coverage area.
The Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) team(s) building
block response pattern is developed from this distribution.
Mutual-aid from adjacent jurisdictions also is a locational
and operations consideration.

The Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) is decentralized
to reduce response times. It consists of a three (3) person
highly skilled multi-disciplinary team supported from other
locations depending on incident type, location, and
magnitude.
Typical assignments are:
- Emergency medical with RDF/advanced life support
ambulance assisted by the Shift Commander/support unit.
- Fire suppression with two (2) RDF/triple combination
pumper teams assisted by the Shift Commander/support
unit and other specialized apparatus/units in accordance
with standard operating procedures (SOP's)
- Other emergencies yield response by RDF's supported
as necessary based on resource requirement determination
utilizing the precepts of the incident command system
(ICS) and Departmental policy guides.
Standard of customer service -
- respond to the emergency with the appropriate Rapid
Deployment Force (RDF) Team(s) within three (3) Minutes
of the time of dispatch.
- perform patient assessment, pre-hospital treatment
in accordance with appropriate protocols, and transport
with an average scene time of twenty (20) minutes.
- achieve a "knock-down" of a typical room/contents
fire within five (5) minutes of arrival of the required
Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) Team(s).
It should be noted that conditions beyond the control of
the Rogers Fire Department could alter achievement of these
standards.
