Artist: Imogene Ragon
Imogene McConnell Ragon (1887-1980) was
an Arkansas artist born and raised in
Clarksville. She was often referred to as “the
Painter of the Ozarks”. Ragon attended the
College of the Ozarks where she was honored with
the Imogene Ragon Memorial Art Award
Scholarship. She attended the St. Louis School
of Fine Art; and also studied in Maine,
Massachusetts and Connecticut. She was a popular
exhibitor during the early years of the War
Eagle Craft Fair. Her works span 20 states, but
she is best known for her watercolor landscapes,
flowers and old building in the Arkansas Ozarks. |
