Winter Wonderland!

With the New Year starting off with balmy spring-like temperatures, a photograph of Rogers shrouded in snow seems appropriate. Taken around 1934, it shows Frank Jr. and Harold Hawkins [left to right] having a snowball fight in the front yard of their home at the corner of 2nd and Cherry streets [The Museum’s Hawkins House]. The old library can be seen in the background. So while you look out and see trees budding and bulbs in your garden sprouting, just remember that winter is not yet over and we may yet see just such a snowfall.
