YOUTH BASKETBALL SUMMER LEAGUE   (Flyer)

ELIGIBILITY:
Players must be in 5th (fifth), 6th (sixth), 7th (seventh), or 8th (eighth) grade in the 2013-2014 school year.

PRACTICES: (MAXIMUM)
Twice a week for 1.5 hours

UNIFORM:
Uniform shirts will be provided for all players.

INSURANCE:
RCSRA maintains a secondary policy of accident insurance for participants.

REGISTRATION FEE: $60*
*RAC Membership is required to participate in this activity ($20)

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: June 15

PRACTICE BEGINS: Week of July 1

GAMES: Each team will receive eight games in the season. Games will be played on the weeknights. No games will be played on the weekends. The season will run through August 2.

COACHES MEETINGS: June 19 @ 5:30 p.m.

TEAM FORMATION:
Players will be divided according to the school they attend. It may become necessary to combine two or more schools if not enough players from one school in that particular age group sign up.

YOUTH BASKETBALL Lil’ Hoopsters (flyer)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This FUNdamental program is for children in kindergarten and first grade to begin learning thebasic skills of basketball to help them succeed once they are old enough to play in the league. This instructional class is taught by experienced coaches. All Lil’ Hoopsters will receive a t-shirt and a basketball. This five week program is held on Saturday mornings at the Rogers Activity Center beginning January 5.

Session 1 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Session 2 10:15 – 11:15 a.m.

YOUTH BASKETBALL (GRADES 2-5) (flyer)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Recreational leagues for grades 2-5 that focus on skill development and player participation. Second and third grade teams play 3-on-3 and all other grades will play 5-on-5 with some grades having special restrictions. Teams will be divided by schools. Volunteer coaches are needed in all grades. If you are going to coach, please fill out a coach’s volunteer application and indicate your interest on your child’s registration form.

SEASON DESCRIPTION: Practices will begin in early December and games will begin in mid January. Teams will play an 8 game schedule with a single elimination tournament that will follow the regular season for the 5th grade leagues. Games will be played on Saturdays at local school gyms. Some weeknight games may be necessary.

YOUTH BASKETBALL (MIDDLE SCHOOL GRADES 6-8) (flyer)

New this season (2012-13), the RCSRA Board of Directors voted to offer an advance league. The changes are approved for middle school divisions (if registration numbers support). The program will offer varsity/junior varsity teams which will compete at different levels with practices being tailored by district coaches according to level of play. Varsity teams will play some league games during the week, allowing them to register for local tournaments during weekends. We will host an open tournament monthly. Separate team fees may apply to register for tournaments.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Competitive Middle School Basketball League that will better prepare participants for future school-level play. Boys and girls teams will be formed for all Rogers Middle Schools. Program is open to grades six, seven, and eight. The program features more practice time, games, and better-trained coaches to better prepare participants for future school-level play. Volunteer coaches are needed in all grades. If you are going to coach, please fill out a coach’s volunteer application and indicate your interest on your child’s registration form.
