GRADES 6-7

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Recreational league for grades sixth (6th) and seventh (7th) that emphasizes skill development and preparing the players for middle school football. Recreational league for grades sixth (6th) and seventh (7th) that emphasizes skill development and player participation. Teams play 11-on-11 full contact with special weight limit restrictions in order to carry or receive the football. Sixth (6th) and seventh (7th) grade players will be drafted on teams by the coach on the basis of the middle school they attend. All sixth grade players and any seventh grade players that did not play last season will go through an evaluation process that will involve various drills that indicate mobility and quickness. The returning seventh (7th) grade players that played last season will be placed back on the team they played with last season, unless they notify the league director that they want to be put back in the draft. No playing time is guaranteed, players must compete for playing time.

ENTRY FEE: $60 per player

*Rogers Activity Center membership is required to participate in the league ($20)

SEASON DESCRIPTION: League games will begin in mid September and end in early November. Teams will play an 8 game schedule with a single elimination tournament that will follow the regular season. The Sixth (6th) and seventh (7th) grade games will be played on Mondays and Tuesdays (6:00pm-9:00pm) and Saturdays (3:00pm-7:30pm) at Veterans Park or one of the high school stadiums..

EQUIPMENT: Players must provide their own shoes, football pants, padding for the pants, practice jersey, chinstrap, and mouthpiece. The league will provide each player with a helmet, game jersey, and shoulder pads. Players may use their own shoulder pads or white helmets, but the league director must first inspect these.
