Recreational
Activities
The Adult Wellness Center recognizes the importance of
keeping people well in all areas of their life. We try to
provide a variety of activities that are both mentally
stimulating for cognitive health as well as fun to benefit
emotional health. Activities & classes cover a wide range of
interests. Examples include: Mah Jongg, Line Dancing, Bingo,
Day Trips, Dominoes, Arts & Crafts, Book Club, Bridge,
Pinochle, and other card games, Musical Entertainment,
Lunches, and Social Gatherings. Some of the activities occur
on a regular basis and some change monthly along with the
class schedule.

Educational
Programs
The Adult Wellness Center has a commitment to provide
quality education to its members. Educational programs range
from personal development, discussion classes, seminars, and
presentations, to hands on instructional classes. Partnering
with local medical professionals allows us to offer seminars
and screenings on various health related topics that are of
interest to our members. Other examples include: Fitness &
Nutrition Talks, Writing Classes, Computer Classes, AARP
Driver Safety Courses, Cooking Classes, and ‘How To’
Classes. Each month the classes and educational seminars
change to encourage lifelong learning.

Arts
& Crafts Studio
The 880 square foot arts & crafts studio is designed to for
a variety of arts, crafts, and hobbies to be enjoyed.
Classes can accommodate all ability levels and examples
include: painting, sketching, scrap booking, quilting,
crocheting, knitting, polymer clay classes, basket weaving,
woodcarving, art appreciation classes, and much more. Hobby
Groups/Guilds comprised of Adult Wellness Center members
also use the arts & crafts room for activities and meetings.

Library
& Computer Lab
The 1500 square foot library is a room for relaxation and
mental stimulation. A stone fireplace is the focal point of
a comfortable lounging area where members can read or relax.
A six-person computer lab provides access to the internet
for keeping in touch by email with family and friends as
well as the latest in research and medical information. The
Adult Wellness Center Library collection includes fiction
and non-fiction materials in both regular and large print
books. We have a rotating collection of materials from the
Rogers Public Library that allows us to have new and fresh
materials for members to check out. The library includes a
variety of newspapers and magazines. We also have some
movies and books on tape available for check out.
The AWC has book clubs and computer classes that regularly

Game Rooms/ Meeting Rooms
The Adult Wellness Center has multiple rooms that are
utilized for classes, meetings, seminars, game playing and
social events. These rooms include Game Room A, Game Room B,
the Multipurpose Room, and the Boardroom.
Game
Rooms A & B are used for a variety
activities. Both rooms have full audio visual capability and
can be combined to accommodate large groups. Examples of use
include educational classes, seminars, and presentations.
The rooms are also used to provide space for recreational
activities like bingo, bridge, canasta, pinochle, and other
game playing groups. In addition, the Game Rooms are used
for social events like holiday parties and dances.
The Multipurpose Room is primarily used as a small classroom
and for card playing groups. We have had a variety of
different classes from instructional classes, personal
development classes, and discussion classes available in
this room.
The Board Room is used primarily for meetings and has a
large table that can be separated into smaller tables
depending on the need. We also use this room for all
of the AWC computer classes.
All of these rooms are available for our members to reserve
or rent for personal use during our open hours.

Dining Room & Demonstration Kitchen
The 3,000 square foot dining room with connecting
demonstration kitchen is available for dining opportunities,
meetings/classes, speakers, and special events. On a daily basis, these rooms are used for a variety
of activities: cooking classes, nutrition classes, various
card groups, line dance classes and more.
These classes and activities change on a monthly basis.

The dining room is also used for special events. A catering
& holding area is adjacent to the dining room. Round tables
and banquet chairs can provide seating for up to 110 people.
This room can be rented out by Adult Wellness Center members
for their private use during our open hours. Please click on

 Lounge
& Social Areas
Several areas in the Adult Wellness Center are dedicated to
socializing. Located near the front of the building is the
lounge. This area is a perfect place to wait for a class or
event to start or simply enjoy the company of others. The
lounge has a couch and lounge chairs, café tables and
chairs, a pool table, and a large flat screen TV. Many
members use this space to visit and drink coffee. Outside
the wellness studio and gymnasium is another social area.
Couches and chairs are for those waiting on classes or
wanting to socialize. A flat screen TV, magazine rack, and
pool tables are also available for members to
utilize. |
