Physical Wellness
Wellness Studio
The 1240 square foot Wellness Studio is designed for group
wellness classes. Classes that improve the aging body
are offered including Yoga, Tai Chi, Balance & Stretching,
Interval Training, Strength Training, and Aerobics.
These classes include an additional charge to allow for us
to have highly qualified and certified instructors. We
do offer the PEPPI exercise program and Silver Sneakers
classes, and a Parkinson’s
exercise class for free to our members. All levels of
fitness can be accommodated in our classes.

Therapy Pool:
The 33,000 gallon warm water therapy pool is kept at a body
neutral temperature of at least 90 degrees. The positive
benefits of pain relief and increased mobility when
exercising in warm water are obvious and sometimes
immediate. We offer a variety of classes including the
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program that include an
additional charge of $20-$25 a month. Open swim times
are also available in the therapy pool for those that do not
wish to have an instructor led class. Webbed gloves,
noodles, flotation belts, kick boards, and water weights are
available for member use. The therapy pool also offers
two handicap accessible self-powered lifts.

Activity Pool
Our 75
feet activity pool is ideal for those who wish to be
more active in the water. Kept around 84 degrees, the
activity pool is utilized for lap swimming as well as
aerobic classes. Open swim times are also available
for those who wish to exercise independently. We also
offer adult swim lessons! Webbed gloves, noodles, flotation
belts, kick boards, and water weights are available for
member use. The activity pool offers one handicap
accessible self-powered lift.

Fitness Center
The 11,000 square foot fitness center is designed for
cardiovascular exercise, strength training, flexibility, and
balance training. An indoor track (with a specialized
rubber surface), treadmills, Nu-Steps, elliptical trainers,
recumbent & upright bikes, row machine, octane stepper, and an arm ergometer
complete the cardiovascular side. Strength training
equipment designed for the aging body includes the Keiser
pneumatic line. Free Motion equipment is also available for
functional strength and balance training. Included in the
free weight section are exercise balls, hand weights, and a
rail system with tubes and bands—perfect for beginners. Many
exercises pieces meet ADA requirements, and the fitness
center is set up following the strictest ADA guidelines.

televisions are offered for your entertainment and
distraction! Daily free equipment orientations are offered,
and the fitness center is staffed with qualified personnel to
answer questions most open hours of the building. A Cardio
Club and a Walking Club are two of our more popular
activities. Also available for member use is an automatic
blood pressure machine, scale, body fat analyzer, and heart
rate monitors. Complete access to the fitness center and all
of its amenities is included in your membership. A fee-based
strength training class that offers a more in depth personal
training approach is available as well. Ask at the fitness

Gymnasium
The AWC has a full sized gymnasium complete with retractable
basketball goals and built in bleachers. Top of the line
parquet flooring makes for a soft, durable surface suitable
for all activities. The gymnasium floor has court markings
for basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, and pickle ball. Additional equipment available for use in the gymnasium
includes basketballs, ping pong tables complete with paddles
and balls, shuffleboard cues and disks, and pickle ball
paddles, balls and nets.
